Cristiano Ronaldo is set to expand his presence in the Web3 world by launching a brand new collection of nonfungible tokens (NFTs) in collaboration with Binance. This collection, called “Forever Worldwide: The Road to Saudi Arabia,” will showcase a range of NFT collectibles that depict Ronaldo’s journey from a talented teenager in Madeira to his influential career at Manchester United and Real Madrid.
In an interview with Sarah Dale, Binance’s head of brand partnerships, Cointelegraph delved into the details of this exciting project. Binance teamed up with local artists from Madeira, Lisbon, Manchester, Madrid, Turin, Saudi Arabia, and Portugal to create unique designs for each NFT.
Ronaldo himself expressed his goal for the collection, stating that he wanted to provide his fans with one-of-a-kind digital artworks that represent significant milestones in his career, while also offering exclusive experiences to his most devoted supporters.
Dale revealed that Ronaldo has been actively involved in engaging with his fans in previous collaborations, and the new NFT collection will allow certain NFT holders to have a special moment with Ronaldo in person on set in Riyadh.
“He truly enjoys meeting his fans. Although we provide him with scripts, he often goes off-script and genuinely connects with his fans. I believe his happiest moments on set were when his fans were present,” Dale shared.
The “Forever Worldwide” Ronaldo collection will be launched in two phases leading up to the 2024/2025 football season. The first collection, featuring NFT artworks from Madeira, Lisbon, and Manchester, was released on May 29. The second drop, scheduled for June 6, will include artwork representing Madrid, Turin, and Saudi Arabia. These NFTs were designed by artists from each respective region.
Furthermore, there will be seven extremely rare NFTs available for auction later in June. These limited-edition pieces, created by renowned Portuguese street artist Mr. Dheo, pay tribute to Ronaldo’s illustrious career with the Portuguese national team.
The NFT collections offer various real-world rewards, such as vintage jerseys, football tickets, and signed posters. Additionally, select collectors will have the opportunity to submit questions for Cristiano Ronaldo to answer in personalized videos exclusively for them.
Dale also emphasized that the seven super rare Portugal NFTs come with an exclusive in-person experience with Ronaldo. This includes a trip to Riyadh to attend a match, followed by a personalized goal celebration moment on set with the football superstar.
