Tech mogul Elon Musk responded to allegations made in a CNBC article dated June 4, which claimed that he instructed Nvidia to redirect artificial intelligence chips from Tesla to his private company, X. The article cited emails from Nvidia suggesting that Musk requested 12,000 Nvidia H100 chips be sent to X instead of Tesla.
However, Musk took to social media to refute these claims, stating that Tesla did not require the chips and that they would have remained unused in a warehouse. He went on to mention the completion of the south extension of Giga Texas, where 50k H100s would be utilized for FSD training, before slamming the article’s author as a “liar.”
Following the CNBC report, Tesla’s shares reportedly dipped by 1% on June 4. The article also highlighted tensions between Musk and certain Tesla investors, who have concerns about potential conflicts of interest due to Musk’s involvement in various high-tech companies, including Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, xAI, and X.
Musk has become a prominent figure in the artificial intelligence and brain-to-computer interface industries, competing with companies like OpenAI and Google through his ventures such as xAI and Neuralink. X introduced the Grok chatbot as an alternative to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, catering to paid users of the X platform.
Additionally, Neuralink received approval from the U.S. FDA to conduct human trials, successfully implanting the first test subject with a brain-to-computer interface. Musk claimed that the individual was able to control a computer mouse using only their thoughts.
In the world of AI, Elon Musk continues to be a key player, pushing boundaries and advancing technology in various sectors.
