Billionaire Marc Cuban’s crypto wallet, which had been inactive for nearly two years, was recently discovered to be selling non-fungible tokens (NFTs). On June 23, the wallet associated with the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domain “markcuban.eth” began offloading various NFTs, including EulerBeats Genesis, DeepBlack NFTs, Pudgy Penguins, and Wrapped MoonCats.
The last recorded sale from Cuban’s wallet occurred on January 13, 2022, when he sold a Roc Aero Pitch Deck NFT for $33.73.
In the past two days, Cuban has sold 14 NFTs totaling approximately $38,533. The highest-valued NFT sold by the investor was his Pudgy Penguin #6239, which was listed at 9.06 Wrapped Ether (WETH), equivalent to $30,578. The remaining NFTs were sold for prices ranging from $22 to $1,800.
In addition to these sales, Cuban intends to sell two high-value NFTs from his wallet. The first is his Hashtag NFT #MFFL, listed for 15 Ether (ETH), which is worth over $50,000. The second NFT is a BibleNFT piece called Deuteronomy 25:4, listed for 5 ETH (approximately $16,000). If these two NFTs are purchased, the total sales from the wallet in the last two days will exceed $100,000.
It is worth noting that Cuban’s NFT dump coincides with a recent security incident involving the 65-year-old investor. On June 23, Cuban reported that his Gmail account had been compromised after receiving a fraudulent call. He shared in an online post that someone claiming to be “Noah” informed him of an intruder and exploited Google’s recovery methods. Cuban warned that any emails received from his [email protected] address after 3:30 pm PST were not from him. However, on June 25, Cuban announced that he had regained control of the account and publicly thanked Google’s team.
While Cuban’s wallet sold the NFTs on the same day as the hacking incident, it remains unclear if the two events are connected. It is worth mentioning that in 2023, one of Cuban’s crypto wallets was drained of approximately $870,000 in various crypto assets, including USD Coin (USDC), Tether (USDT), and Lido Staked Ether (stETH), according to Etherscan data.
