T-Mobile Deutsche Telekom MMS has teamed up with Subsquid, a decentralized data platform, to operate dedicated worker nodes within Subsquid’s decentralized “data lake.” According to a press release provided to Cointelegraph, this partnership aims to enhance the security and efficiency of retrieving and delivering blockchain data.
Worker nodes within Subsquid’s network handle data queries and retrieve requested information from the data lake for consumers. In a written Q&A with Cointelegraph, Alexander Ebeling, co-founder of Web3 Unit Deutsche Telekom MMS, emphasized the collaboration’s significance.
Marcel Fohrmann, co-founder of Subsquid, highlighted that this collaboration would reinforce “secure and open access” to data across Web3. This initiative follows Deutsche Telekom’s recent commitment to serve as a validator for Polygon, a prominent Ethereum layer-2 scaling platform.
Discussing data management, Dmitry Zhelezov, co-founder of Subsquid, explained that each piece of data undergoes cryptographic validation to ensure authenticity. Ebeling stressed the critical importance of security in enterprise-scale systems, noting their susceptibility to cyber threats.
Zhelezov, representing Subsquid, outlined challenges including efficient data partitioning and the implementation of robust security measures within a decentralized framework. Dirk Röder, head of Web3 infrastructure and solutions at Deutsche Telekom, revealed at BTC Prague that the company has operated a Bitcoin node since 2023.
Addressing queries about the firm’s involvement in Bitcoin mining, Röder affirmed their intent to proceed.
