Update as of July 5, 07:30 UTC: Notcoin has introduced the Telegram Gaming Accelerator in collaboration with Helika Gaming, distinct from Telegram, following the prosperous launch of Telegram’s blockchain-driven Mini Apps.
This new venture aims to leverage the recent surge in Mini Apps and blockchain technology to enhance the gaming experience for users on Telegram. It comes on the heels of games like Hamster Kombat, which drew in 200 million players after its March debut on the platform.
Notcoin revealed that the massive user base from Mini Apps has become the “new meta,” prompting the partnership with Helika Gaming to extend an accelerator program tailored for game developers. The initiative seeks to foster innovation and expansion among developers keen on creating gaming applications integrated within Telegram.
In collaboration with Helika Accelerate, the endeavor is supported by a substantial $50 million funding commitment. Its focus is to bolster game studios, mobile app developers, and independent creators. The objective is to craft an immersive and inventive gaming experience that blends Telegram’s platform with The Open Network blockchain capabilities.
This strategic move by Notcoin aims to diversify the array of games available on Telegram and attract a broader audience through incentivized game development. The first round of applications for the Telegram Gaming Accelerator program will commence next week.
In January, the viral crypto clicker game Notcoin set records by amassing over 20 million sign-ups in less than a month. Sasha Plotvinov, founder of Open Builders, the team behind the game, highlighted in an April interview with Cointelegraph how the game effectively resolved user onboarding challenges, thereby motivating users to engage with Web3 opportunities.
