Cardano’s founder, Charles Hoskinson, has praised the governance model of the platform and criticized Ethereum for relying too heavily on its co-founder, Vitalik Buterin. According to Hoskinson, Ethereum’s governance model is akin to a dictatorship, as Buterin is the sole person responsible for guiding the platform’s direction. In contrast, Cardano’s new governance model aims to solve the “governance trilemma” by using delegated representatives and a members-based organization called Intersect to simplify complex governance topics for voting. Hoskinson believes that Cardano’s model allows for collaboration and innovation, regardless of his own involvement. The recent Chang hard fork has transformed Cardano’s ADA token into a governance token, enabling holders to elect representatives and vote on development proposals and community funding. Hoskinson believes that Cardano’s governance model is more inclusive and collaborative, ensuring ongoing innovation for the platform.
