The Dencun hard fork brings together a total of nine Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs). This upgrade cleverly merges the strengths of the Cancun upgrade, which enhances the management and processing of transactions on the execution layer of Ethereum, and the Deneb upgrade, which improves the consensus layer. The execution layer revamp, known as Cancun, is dedicated to optimizing transaction handling, while the consensus layer enhancement, called Deneb, focuses on enhancing how network participants reach agreement on the state of the blockchain.
