The ICPCC 2024, which stands for Internet Computer Protocol Community Conference, aims to bring together the global Web3 community and transform the conference into a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization). The importance of online and offline events in addressing education, collaboration, and innovation within the Web3 ecosystem cannot be underestimated.
Web3 events play a crucial role in fostering unity among developers and shaping the future of the decentralized world. One upcoming event is focused on the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP), a blockchain network renowned for addressing critical challenges such as scalability, security, and interoperability. Unlike Ethereum, ICP does not aim to replace existing blockchains but rather fills the gaps within Web3 by enabling automated cross-chain transactions without the need for bridges. This means that decentralized applications (DApps) on any blockchain network can provide a user-friendly experience similar to the traditional web, without compromising decentralization.
ICP aims to enhance the power and usability of DApps across various blockchain networks. To celebrate this, the ICP Community Conference (ICPCC) will showcase the value that ICP brings to the broader Web3 community as a multichain event brand focused on ICP technology. The conference, organized by Code & State, a venture studio dedicated to ICP, will take place on May 10 and aims to connect Web3 enthusiasts, developers, and thought leaders from around the world.
The primary goal of the ICPCC 2024 is to highlight the capabilities and potential of the ICP protocol to integrate and add value to other blockchain networks such as Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Solana. Unlike previous events that mainly targeted the ICP community, the 2024 edition aims to reach a broader Web3 audience and demonstrate how users can strengthen the chains they already use.
In a bid to decentralize the event, Code & State plans to transform the ICPCC into a DAO during the conference. A DAO is a blockchain-based system that allows people to collaborate through consensus mechanisms without centralized leadership. As part of this transition, participants will vote to elect council members who will shape proposals to manage future events. The council will present its first recommendations for the 2025 ICPCC events in late 2024.
The first step towards decentralizing the ICPCC is the establishment of a fully independent Marshall Islands DAO limited liability company (LLC), which will relinquish control and copyright of its brand and entrust the organization’s future to its community. Following this, the decentralization sale will take place approximately a day before the event on May 10.
The election of the ICPCC Council will take place about a month after May, and they will be responsible for governing and planning the conference’s future. During the third quarter of 2024, the council will propose strategic plans for the first 2025 ICPCC event, allowing sufficient preparation time for the vendors to organize the event.
After the organizational structure transformation, all funds from ticket sales and sponsorships will go to the DAO treasury, which will be managed by tokenholders. By leveraging the event series, the community creates a decentralized marketing arm for the Web3 ecosystem, showcasing a sustainable business model that supports ongoing promotion and development. Thus, the users will have complete control over the management of the event series.
The ICPCC event invites Web3 enthusiasts worldwide to explore how they can leverage the power of the Internet Computer Protocol. With a focus on building a more interconnected and user-friendly decentralized ecosystem, the event will highlight the best use cases of ICP. Local meetups will feature influential figures from the crypto world, including MC Blockchain Boy, William Laurent, Jerry Banfield, Blockchain Pill, Aaron Bremser, and The Swop.
The ICPCC team believes that Web3 can bring real-world value to people, even if they are unfamiliar with tokens or decentralization. The move towards a community-focused DAO structure aligns with ICPCC’s vision of a more user-friendly and accessible future.
Web3 events are at the forefront of advancing a more interconnected and user-friendly decentralized ecosystem. They demonstrate a progressive approach to governance and community involvement. These blockchain-based events signify a future where decentralization is seamlessly integrated into everyday digital experiences and where Web3 is accessible to everyone.
