The launch of the Olympus Acceleration Platform has been announced by the Dfinity Foundation, a Swiss not-for-profit organization and major contributor to the Internet Computer blockchain. In a press release, Dfinity described Olympus as the first decentralized, on-chain Web3 accelerator. It is positioned as a unique platform that will be utilized by teams worldwide to organize and initiate their own accelerator programs. What sets Olympus apart from other accelerator programs, according to the foundation, is its “Open Stake” model, which allows projects, mentors, and investors to interact freely, promoting inclusivity and unlimited integrations within the ecosystem. Dominic Williams, founder and chief scientist of the Dfinity Foundation, described the platform as a global platform for everyone. The platform will reportedly include a “trustless perpetual loop,” providing on-chain verification of key project growth metrics through the Internet Computer Protocol infrastructure. The Internet Computer is a decentralized computing platform that uses blockchain technology to host software directly on the internet. Its mission is to democratize internet infrastructure and cultivate a more open and equitable digital ecosystem. Olympus was developed with support from Web3Labs, a blockchain accelerator based in Hong Kong, as well as mentorship and support from investors and partners at various VC funds, including Fenbushi Capital, Fundamental Labs, Softbank Vision Fund, NewTribe Capital, Cypher Capital, Bitcoin Frontier Fund, Summer Ventures, L2IV, Dext Force Ventures, Leadblock Partners, viaBTC Capital, Cipholio Ventures, Chiron Group, 3X Capital, Plutus.VC, and others.
